Occasional babysitting

Our mission is to make childcare simple and transparent. Here's exactly how our pricing works — every fee, every line item, before you book.

1.Booking fee or membership

$12 per appointment — pay only when you book, no commitment.
Or choose unlimited bookings with a membership:
$50 — one-month membership
$240 — semi-annual membership
$360 — annual membership

Note: All memberships are billed immediately upon purchase and can be cancelled at any time.

2.Hourly sitter rate

$17 – $22 per hour, depending on family size.
Paid directly as a credit card transaction through the platform for every appointment.
Your total cost — booking fee or membership + hourly rate — is shown clearly at checkout.

3.Convenience fee

5% platform convenience fee applied to every transaction.

Example: A 3-hour booking with a one-time fee would be $12 booking fee + (3 × $20 hourly) + 5% = $75.60 total.

Non-Circumvention of Carilly

We are so grateful for our sitters, nannies, and families. We take great pride in recruiting and placing nannies with amazing families — and our business is predicated on being able to continue doing that work.

The greatest acknowledged risk to our model is families and sitters meeting through Carilly and then continuing the relationship outside of Carilly. It's a real risk, but one that we don't want to allow to keep us from the work that we love so much. Thus, in your Terms of Use which you acknowledge by signing up on the Carilly app, all parties agree to the following:

"If a Sitter contacts any Family or Group directly for the purpose of arranging a job in circumvention of the Carilly platform, Company may assess a circumvention fee of $100.00 against the Sitter. A circumvention fee may also be assessed against a Sitter if a Family or Group contacts the Sitter directly and the Sitter accepts a job in circumvention of the Carilly platform. Company may assess a minimum circumvention fee of $2,500.00 against a Family or Group if such Family or Group chooses to contact any Sitter directly with the intention of arranging services."

You covenant and agree that you will not (i) circumvent or attempt to circumvent the obligation to pay fees related to Company's provision of services; (ii) circumvent or attempt to circumvent Company's messaging tools or platform; (iii) establish a contact or continuing relationship with a Sitter where such contact or relationship was established primarily through the Website or the App for purposes of any of the foregoing; or (iv) dispute fee amounts for illegitimate reasons.

Common pricing questions.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes — anytime, no questions asked. Memberships are billed upfront and cannot be pro-rated, but you'll have full access for the time you've paid.

What if a sitter cancels on me?

If a Carilly sitter cancels, we work to find a replacement at no extra cost. If we can't, your booking fee and any prepaid hours are fully refunded.

Do you handle taxes and payroll for nannies?

For long-term placements we provide guidance and trusted payroll partners, but the household is the legal employer. We're happy to walk you through it.

Are gift cards available?

Yes — Carilly gift cards work for any booking fee, hourly rate, or membership. They're a great gift for new parents or busy friends.
